After your session, we spend around 45 mins on your first protocol which is your guide for food, skincare, supplements, testing, hydration, minerals and more! We need to nail the foundations before we move on to the deeper healing.

Step  4  -  Corneotherapy  Consult
with Asha (Optional)

Asha is an award-winning Corneotherapist (holistic skin therapist) and has been changing lives with customised skin care prescriptions for 14 years.

She believes that by supporting the skin barrier, microbiome and pH from the outside-in we can see accelerated healing and results for complex and inflamed skin conditions.  Corneotherapy consultations are recommended as part of your naturopathic treatment to ensure we are addressing external concerns while addressing internal drivers.

Asha uses Prologic, a professional skincare range that has everything your skin needs, and nothing it doesn't. Skincare is dispatched with your Naturopathic Script.

Step  5  -  Private  Skin Swab with Asha (Optional)

Asha specialises in private skin swabs to assess bacterial overgrowths of the skin such as Staph.

These bacteria can mimic acne, but are usually unresponsive to 'acne treatments' like skincare, diet changes and in-clinic skin treatments.

Please note that skin swabs take around 3.5 weeks to culture and get results.

Some overgrowths are transmissible, so if you are a referring skin clinic or seeing a skin clinic - you may have to stop clinical treatments for 6-8 weeks whilst we eradicate. This is highly specialised work, and may also require internal investigations as skin is a 'whole body problem'.

Asha is the only practitioner on the team who can do swabs

We do blood work as a foundation for all clients. Using functional interpretation, things are never ‘normal’ and there is a pattern/story/revealing of the root causes.

You can upload existing pathology to your client portal, understanding that if it is more than 3 months old we will need new labs. Also, timing is everything. We will show you when and how to test your hormones for accuracy.

Don’t want to go through your GP? No problem, there are online pathology services we can utilise for a fee.

Pathology Testing

Private Testing

We have access to hundreds of tests, but these are my top 4:

 01. Private Skin Swab

We use this testing for skin that is showing signs of a bacterial or fungal overgrowth.

Symptoms such as:

  • Worse for good quality skincare
  • Diagnosis of Staph infection
  • Flaking/crusting
  • Redness/inflammation
  • Burning
  • Stinging
  • Itching
  • Redness

Private swab testing is more sensitive and accurate than testing with the GP, and we often found that if a GP swab shows no growth then a private swab will reveal a high growth of bacteria.

Asha has created her own eradication protocols to treat infections and overgrowths safely from the outside in, without the need for antibiotics.

02.  Hair Trace Mineral Analysis (HTMA)

With a low price point, this is a great starter test. It measures the mineral composition of hair, and reflects the nutrients and toxic elements in body tissue.

  • Mineral deficiences and excess (like zinc, iron, copper, selenium, magnesium + more)
  • Heavy metal toxicity
  • Metabolic rate (fast or slow)
  • Immune health (key for skin)
  • Nervous system imbalance
  • Liver and kidney stress
  • Insulin resistance
  • Energy levels & fatigue
  • Adrenal and thyroid function

A HTMA reveals:

03. GI Map

Skin health is innately connected to gut health. You don’t need to have gut symptoms to be carrying a parasite or stealth infection, but common symptoms include:

  • Bloating no matter what you eat
  • Indigestion and acid reflux
  • Constipation
  • Food intolerances
  • Loose/sloppy stool
  • Pain/discomfort
  • Nausea
  • Feeling of fullness after food
  • Undigested food in your poo
  • Light/clay coloured poo
  • Stubborn weight gain
  • Low immunity/always getting sick
  • Recurrent thrush

04. DUTCH Complete

If your hormones are imbalanced on your blood tests, we may choose a DUTCH test to get more detailed and precise information.

  • Oestrogens & pathways
  • DHEA-s
  • Progesterone
  • Testosterone/Androgens
  • Melatonin
  • Cortisol/Adrenals
  • Organic Acids
  • Oxidative stress
  • Methylation

DUTCH stands for ‘Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones’. It uses dried urine, taken around 7 days after ovulation to assess 35 different hormone metabolites. Some of these include:

It is the gold standard in hormone testing, and creates a blueprint for treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is private testing?

In Australia, a HTMA is $240, a GI Map is $440 and a DUTCH complete is $399 + courier.

What if I have existing test results?

Fab! Please upload them at least 3 days before your consult. If they are older than 12 months, we will need to retest but it will give me a tonne of info.

Do you offer one-off sessions?

For sure. We have made myself accessible in our appointment structure. If you just want to pick my brain for 75 minutes, go for it!

I’m already seeing a Naturopath/Nutritionist - can I still see you?

Not really. It’s a bit like seeing 2 personal trainers at once, its confusing.
If you are working with a prac and just want to do a skin swab and have advice from the outside-in, that’s totally fine.

Is this rebatable on Private Health Insurance?

Unfortunately not.

But my GP said everything looks ‘normal’. Do I still need testing?

Your GP is trained to look for disease. We am trained to look for optimal health and wellbeing. We look at different ranges. We have never seen testing that was perfect (including my own!)

I just want to work with diet & lifestyle, no testing. Can I do that?
